How to Delete Pages from a PDF

PDFToolShack’s Delete Pages tool runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib.js. Your file is never sent to a server — pages are removed in memory and the result downloads directly to your device.

Load your PDF, then click any page thumbnail to mark it for deletion — marked pages turn red with an X overlay so you can clearly see what’s being removed. The status bar at the top always shows exactly how many pages you’re keeping vs deleting. Click again on any page to unmark it. Use the quick-select buttons to mark odd or even pages in one click.

When you’re ready, click Delete & Download to save the cleaned-up PDF. The original file is never modified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your file is loaded into memory, the selected pages are removed locally, and the result downloads directly to your device. Nothing is ever sent to any server.
What if I want to keep only a few pages instead of deleting most?
If you’re keeping fewer pages than you’re deleting, our Extract Pages tool is easier — you select what you want to keep rather than marking everything to remove.
Can I undo a deletion after downloading?
No — once downloaded the deletion is permanent in the new file. However, your original PDF is never modified, so you can always reload it and start again if needed.
Will deleting pages affect the quality of the remaining pages?
No. Pages are copied as-is into a new document. There is no re-compression or re-rendering of any content — quality is identical to the original.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF has an open password, unlock it first with our Unlock PDF tool. PDFs with only permissions restrictions can usually be edited directly.
Is there a limit on how many pages I can delete?
No server-side limits at all since everything runs in your browser. You can delete one page or all but one page. The only constraint is that you must keep at least one page — a PDF with zero pages isn’t valid.
